HackPalachia 2023

Q: What is a Hackathon + what are some examples of project prompts and deliverables?

Ans: A hackathon is an event, typically lasting several days, where participants work collaboratively to design, build, and showcase a project or prototype. Hackathons bring together diverse individuals, including software developers, designers, and business professionals, to tackle specific challenges or create innovations. Participants work in teams to develop solutions, make a demo or presentation, and often compete for prizes or recognition.

HackPalachia, our hackathon, will be held on 4-5 March 2023 and will be a 24-hour event.

Regarding project prompts and deliverables, our hackathon will focus on various topics, including Sustainability, Healthcare, Energy, Education, Blockchain & AR/VR, and Diversity. Participants will work in teams to develop solutions in these areas and present their final products at the end of the hackathon.

The skillsets of those involved in our hackathon will include software development, design, and marketing, among others. We welcome students, professionals, and entrepreneurs from various backgrounds to participate and bring their unique perspectives to the table.

We are looking for partners who can work with us, guide students, and provide us with the problem statement.
